The fifth IDEEA Forum will take place this year. It will be hosted by McMaster University in Hamilton from July 24-27, 2023. During this time, students from 22 universities around the world will come together to share the final presentations from the project that has been ongoing online for half a year.

The host institution, McMaster University is located in the city of Hamilton in the province of Ontario in Canada. It is ranked as one of the best universities in Canada and one of only four Canadian universities in the top 80 worldwide. It was founded in 1887 which can still be seen today in the historic buildings on campus. It has since expanded to accommodate over 70 research institutes and more than 31,000 students. The main campus of McMaster is located in residential neighborhoods and adjacent to the Royal Botanical Gardens, one of Hamilton’s landmarks. Hamilton is a port city and is considered one of the leading industrial centers in the country. Located directly on Lake Ontario, the surrounding area offers many opportunities for hiking, for example to one of the 100 waterfalls in the area.  But also the famous city of Toronto or the Niagara Falls at the US-American border are not far away and a trip is worthwhile.
